The Sighting

We finally had a celebrity sighting to beat all sightings.

Animesh and I had gone to Artisinal for an emergency brunch. The emergency was that we woke up past 11am and I was ravenously hungry. Being 7 1/2 months pregnant now, I have little tolerance for two things. Hunger being the second. So we had our cheese fondue, crudites and frisee salad... very french, and took a cab back home for a day of house cleaning.

On Madison and 56th our cab was stopped at a light. People on the sidewalk were busy taking pictures of someone on the sidewalk. I turned to find Hillary Clinton, complete in her pinstripe skirt suit with a tall, handsome consort. It took me a few seconds to recognize Bill Clinton beside her. Also in a light gray suit, looking very happy to have caused quite a traffic buildup. Hillary broke up the party with a firm 'We have to keep moving, guys!' and Bill followed with a smile and a wave to all of us waiting in our cabs with our camera phones in hand. I think Animesh caught the backside of one of the security guys in the posse. So not much in the way of proof, but honestly, at 2:30pm, Oct 22nd 2006, we bumped into Bill and Hillary Clinton crossing the street in front of our cab. And how can you beat that?!
